USCAA Players of the Week 2/1 - 2/7
Men's Basketball Division I:
Eric Johnson is the Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Johnson is a junior forward at Marygrove College. Eric tied a career high with 27 points in a game against USCAA member Indiana University Northwest, leading his team to an 89-75 win. Eric also finished with 14 rebounds to record his fourth double-double of the season.
Men's Basketball Division II:
Joel Stryker is the Division II Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week. Stryker is a sophomore guard at NCTA. Joel scored 125 points over three games last week, including a 54 point performance against Frontier School of the Bible. In addition to averaging 42 points per game, Stryker also added eight assists and five steals.
Jawaan Stalling is the Division II Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week. Stalling is a guard at U-Maine Augusta. Jawaan helped his team to wins over Hesser College and EMCC last week, averaging 25 points, eight assists, nine rebounds, and six steals. U-Maine Augusta is now 9-4 in the YSCC.
Women's Basketball:
Sharon Houston is the Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Houston is a sophomore forward at Indiana University Northwest. Sharon averaged 31 points, 21 rebounds, and five blocks this week while leading her team to a 2-0 record. Against Trinity International University, she set a single game school record by pulling down 26 rebounds.
Honorable Mention
Men's Basketball Division I:
Travis Ekmark, a senior guard/forward at the University of Dallas, averaged 15 points and 13.5 rebounds over two games last week, recording two double-doubles in the process.
Men's Basketball Division II:
Kraig Unger, a freshman guard at the University of Cincinnati Clermont, averaged 26 points last week in leading his team to two key wins. Unger shot over 50 percent from the field and also recorded a double-double.
Women's Basketball:
Ashley McQuillan, a sophomore guard at St. Joseph's College, averaged 18.5 points in their two wins last week. McQuillan added her sixth 20+ point game with 25 points against Albany College of Pharmacy, along with six steals, three assists, and three rebounds.
Kylie Yoshimura, a freshman guard at the University of Dallas, scored 39 points in two games, while shooting over 50 percent from the field. Yoshimura also had a team high 12 assists in her team's two wins last week.
