USCAA Players of the Week 9/14 - 9/20
Men's Soccer:
Shane Hurdle is the men's soccer player of the week. He is a sophomore forward at Central Maine Community College. Shane factored into seven of the eight goals CMCC scored this week, with 4 goals, two assists and a break away on which he was fouled and led to a penalty shot goal.
Women's Soccer:
Amy Galipeault is the women's soccer player of the week. She is a junior forward at Vermont Tech. Amy scored eight goals in two days against SUNY Canton and Paul Smith's College, and set a team record for goals in a game and points in a game with six.
Shana DeVoe is the women's soccer goalie of the week. She is a freshman at Marygrove College. Shana recorded her second straight shutout as she made eight saves in 90 minutes in a 1-0 win over Huntington University, including three key saves in the final minutes of action.
Volleyball:
Shannon Pietruszka is the volleyball player of the week. She is a freshman libero from Marygrove College. Shannon's excellent play led her team to the championship of their tournament invitational, highlighted by nearly 100 digs and 83 assists.
Lauren Bradford is the volleyball setter of the week. She is a sophomore from University of Cincinnati-Clermont. Lauren was instrumental in helping her team to three wins last week, including wins over USCAA members Clark State and Ohio State Marion. Laurens stats included 53 assists, 10 kills, and 17 digs.
Cross Country:
Graham Hayslip is the cross country runner of the week. He is a freshman from NHTI. Graham finished 6th overall at the Eagle Invitational with a time of 31:54, helping his team to a third place finish.
Golf:
Greg Frechette is the golfer of the week. He is a senior from NHTI. Greg scored an 84 and an 80 to help his team pick up two first place finishes last week.
HONORABLE MENTION
Men's Soccer
Alejandro Lopez - The junior from Lindenwood scored 3 goals and had 2 assists in and 8-0 win against St. Louis CC.
Women's Soccer
Tiffany Barnes - The freshman from Florida College had 2 goals against Ave Maria that gave the Falcons a 3-3 tie.
Volleyball
Traci Taylor - The sophomore from Rochester College helped her team go 4-0 last week with 120 assists, 12 kills, 7 blocks, 6 aces and 33 digs.
