Players of the Week
Men's Basketball Division I:
Isaih Harrison is the Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Isaiah, a sophomore forward at The Apprentice School, averaged a double double, 24.7 points and 10.3 rebounds last week. Harrison began the week posting 16 points and 10 rebounds against NCAA DIII #21 ranked Virginia Wesleyan. He followed that performance up with back to back career high nights, scoring 27 points against Johnson & Wales (FL), and posting 31 points and 16 rebounds against Florida Memorial, leading the Builders to two road wins.
Men's Basketball Division II:
Tyler Smithgall is the Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Smithgall is a junior forward at Central Maine Community College. On the week, Tyler led the Mustangs to a tight 109-105 win against arch rival, Southern Maine Community College. In the game, he posted 25 points and an unbelievable 31 rebounds, shattering a school record.
Women's Basketball:
Sharon Houston is the Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Houston is a sophomore forward at Indiana University Northwest. Sharon, who has displayed many dominating performances throughout the season, was once again vital to the Redhawks, in a second half comeback win over Trinity Christian College (NAIA II). Houston posted 23 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. The highlight of this performance came as Houston eclipsed the 1,000 career point milestone. Houston has accomplished the feat in just 42 career games. She currently averages 24 points and 15 rebounds a game at IUN.
Honorable Mention
Cara Sczepanski is the Co-Women's Basketball Honorable Mention Player of the Week. Sczepanski, a junior forward at the University of Dallas, led her team with 26 points, 15 rebounds, 7 blocks, and 6 steals in two games last week.
Nina Wills is the Co-Women's Basketball Honorable Mention Player of the Week. Wills, a sophomore point guard at Indiana University Northwest had an all around outstanding performance last week, highlighted by a 13 point, 8 assist, 5 rebound, and 4 steal performance in a come-back win over Trinity Christian College.
