A native of Smithfield, VA, Phillip Hines joins the USCAA with a background in marketing and special events production. He is a former student-athlete, where he played baseball for one year at Berea College. Hines completed his academic career at Old Dominion University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Communications.
Following graduation from ODU, Hines has experienced success in marketing and special events roles for a variety of local and national companies, including the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival, Dell, and more. The Virginia Beach Neptune Festival is one of Virginia’s largest outdoor weekend festivals with more than 300,000 people in attendance and was instrumental to the success of the International Sandsculpting Championships. Hines is also published author with Simon & Schuster and has been interviewed by local, regional, and national media.
Hines is responsible for administering the USCAA national championships and overseeing sponsorship development.
He currently resides in Virginia Beach, VA, with his wife and daughter.
