Men’s Soccer
Player of the Week
Chris Brennan, a sophomore Forward at Penn College has won the Men’s Soccer Player of the Week award. Brennan played in two games this week, both wins, and scored a hat trick against NCAA DII Alfred University, including the game-winner in overtime. Brennan added a goal later in the week in a 5-0 win over PSU Beaver giving him a total of four goals on the week.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Corey Grigas, a freshman from Southern Maine CC is the Goalkeeper of the Week. Corey has allowed only 1 goal in the last 4 games and allowed zero goals with 5 saves on the week. SMCC is 10-0-1 in the Yankee Conference and 10-2-1 overall on the season.
Women’s Soccer
Player of the Week
Emma Legallais a sophomore Midfielder from University of Maine-Machias is the Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. Emma had three goals on the week including both goals in a 2-1 victory over Maine-Augusta. Legallais also added a goal in her game against EMCC.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Sydney Proctor a freshman from University of Maine-Fort Kent is the Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the week. Proctor earned her 10th shutout of the year in a 4-0 win over University of Maine-Machias and then had five saves in a 5-1 win over University of Maine-Farmington. That goal was only the second she has given up all season.
Volleyball
Player of the Week
Kellie Yekel, a sophomore hitter at PSU-Wilkes Barre is the Volleyball Player of the Week. Kellie had 44 kills, 4 sets, 8 service aces, 47 digs, 5 blocked shots, and a 57% hitting percentage. For the year Yekel has 269 kills.
Setter of the Week
Elisa Boyd, a junior setter at University of Maine—Machias is the Volleyball Setter of the Week. Elisa had 8 kills, 1 service ace, 11 digs, and 19 assists in a conference semi-final win over Unity College. In the final against NHTI Elisa had 10 kills, 1 service ace, 14 digs, and 21 assists. She was voted the Offensive Player of the tournament.
Men’s Cross Country
Runner of the Week
Alberto Tellez a junior at Lindenwood-Belleville is the Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Alberto competed in the Illinois College Cross Country Invitational 8k run and finished 16th overall with a time of 27:48 to lead his team to a 6th place finish.
Women’s Cross Country
Runner of the Week
Megan Mydosh, a freshman at SUNY Canton, is the Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Megan competed in the CCOC Championship last week and finished the 5k run with a time of 21:49, good for 10th overall.
