Player of the Week
Kashean Alston, a sophomore from Paul Smith’s College is the Division II Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Kashean played in three games this week in which Paul Smith’s went 2-1. Alston had a double-double with 23 points and 15 rebounds against University of Maine-Augusta highlighting a week in which he had 63 points, 28 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocks. Paul Smith’s has started 2-0 against conference opponents with both wins occurring on the road.
Women’s Basketball
Player of the Week
Katelyn Benson, a freshman from Southern Maine CC is the Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Katelyn scored 24 points on 11 of 15 shooting in the Seahawks 88-47 victory over Naval Academy Prep School. Benson also pulled down 9 rebounds and tallied 2 steals in 27 minutes of play. The SMCC Seahawks have begun the season 2-1.
