USCAA Players of the Week Announced for September 7-13
Click on the link above for the Players of the Week. The USCAA honors Fall Players of the Week for the sports of soccer, volleyball, cross country, and golf.
Men's Soccer:
Daniele Stabile is the men's soccer player of the week. He is a junior forward from the University of Lindenwood Belleville. Stabile was key last week for the Lynx, leading them to a victory over St. Louis Community College. He assisted on the first goal of the game, and went on to score 2, including the go ahead, as Lindenwood rolled over SLCC, 7-2.
Jonathan Uribe is the men's soccer goalie of the week. Jonathan is a sophomore at Washington Adventist University (formerly Columbia Union). Uribe posted 15 saves against NCAA DII opponent University of Pittsburgh Johnstown.
Women's Soccer:
Azizah Sy is the women's soccer player of the week. She is a sophomore midfielder/defender for Washington Adventist University. Sy was the lone scorer for the Pioneers last week. She provided a hat trick in a 3-0 shutout of NCAA DIII, Mary Baldwin College.
Lauren Browning is the women's soccer goalie of the week. Lauren, a freshman at Judson College made 11 saves to earn her first shut out win of the season, as the Judson Eagles defeated Huntingdon College 1-0.
Volleyball:
Amber Owen is the volleyball player of the week. Amber is a Senior Libero for the Judon College. In two matches last week, Owen played spectacular defense, digging 77 balls, and adding a kill for the Eagles.
Bea Anderson is the volleyball setter of the week. Bea is a freshman at Talladega College. Anderson had 50 assists and 15 digs, leading the Tornados to 3 set wins against both Rust College and USCAA foe Concordia College Selma.
Men's Cross Country:
Alex Hubartt is the Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week. Hubbartt, a sophomore at Florida College, led the Falcons of FC to a 4th place finish at the Florida Tech Invitational. Hubbartt placed 17th overall with a time of 28:38, 4 minutes faster than his course best.
Women's Cross Country:
Jessica Jones is the Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week. Jones is a freshman at Florida College. At the Florida Tech Invitational last week, Jones placed 44th overall with a time of 23:01, the second best time for a Florida College women's runner ever.
Golf:
Kevin Reiber is the Golfer of the Week. Reiber is a Junior at Penn State Mont Alto. Last week, the co-captain and U.S. Amateur Qualifier blew up the course, posting a par 72 at the Mystic Rock Golf Course. Mystic Rock is a PGA course, which once hosted the PGA 84 Lumber Classic. Reiber's performance led Mont Alto to a team score of 319, placing them first in the event over five other PSUAC institutions, and 24 shots ahead of the 2nd place finisher.
HONORABLE MENTION
Men's Soccer
Nathan Rollyson - The freshman center midfielder from Southern State Community College sparked the SSCC offense, scoring 2 goals, and adding an assist in a loss and a tie last week.
Women's Soccer
Lisa Dunmore - Dunmore, a sophomore forward for Judson College scored the game winning goal in a 1-0 match against Huntingdon College.
Volleyball
Jessica Futrell - The freshman outside hitter from Talladega put down 21 kills in wins over Rust College and Concordia College Selma.
