Players of the Week - 2-7-12
The USCAA has announced the players of the week for Wrestling, Men's Division I, Men's Division II, and Women's Basketball.
Men’s Basketball DI
Player of the Week
Jeremy Thomas, a senior guard from University of Maine-Fort Kent, is the Division I Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Jeremy highlighted the week with a 34 point and 12 rebound performance in an overtime win against number one ranked USCAA Division II Eastern Maine Community College. Thomas set the school record by hitting 8 three pointers in a single game.
Player of the Week
Jose Narvaez, a junior forward from University of Cincinnati-Clermont, is the Division II Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. On the week Narvaez averaged 26.5 points per game, 18 rebounds per game, and 2.5 steals per game. Narvaez also shot 58 percent from the field as he helped lead the cougars to a 2-0 record on the week.
Women’s Basketball
Player of the Week
Vanessa Zailo, a freshman forward from Rhema Bible College is the Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. On the week Zailo averaged 11 points per game, 16 rebounds per game, and just over 4 steals per game. Zailo also had three double doubles on the week including 10 points and 21 rebounds against Southwestern Adventist University.
