Andy Kirschner is the athletic director at Penn State Beaver and is in his tenth season as head coach of their softball team. After going 1-14 in his first season with the team, Kirschner has led the Lady Lions with improved records every year.

The team finished 29-20 for the 2010 season and finished second in the PSUAC tournament while splitting the regular season crown. Kirschner was named PSUAC Coach of the Year in 2009. He ended the 2010 season with a career record of 154-143. The softball team qualified for the USCAA National Tournament and finished seventh in the 8-team tournament.

Kirschner has held a variety of positions in the Athletic Department and has also assisted with the men's basketball program for four years. He was head coach of the Beaver campus women's volleyball team for two years.

Kirschner holds a master's degree in teaching and curriculum from Penn State and a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Edinboro University.  Kirschner was named as the USCAA Athletic Director of the Year in 2011 after serving in capacities as tournament host, and participating in several USCAA ad hoc committees.
