Newport News, VA- The USCAA would like to congratulate this week's selections for Player of the Week. These players were selected for their on field performance through the week of March 16th - March 22nd.
Baseball
Player of the Week- Tim Coglietta - Briarcliffe College, OF, Jr., Smithtown, NY- Coglietta hit .467 (7-for-15) over a three game stretch. The Briarcliffe leadoff hitter, crossed the plate four times, stole three bases, drove in 3 runs and had an OBP of .529.
Pitcher of the Week- Chris Coffey - St. Joseph's College (NY), P, Jr., Brooklyn, NY- Coffey posted a 1-0 record on the week as he tossed a three-hit, complete game (seven innings), shutout over College of Staten Island. The junior struck out four and walked one as he led the Bears to a 3-0 victory.
Softball
Player of the Week- Sharonda Mangan - St. Catherine College, INF, Jr., Louisville, KY- Mangan went 9-for-21 (.428) in eight games for the Patriots. The junior belted three homeruns, two doubles, a triple, had 13 RBI and six runs scored. The Patriots were 7-1 on the week.
Pitcher of the Week- Allie Neff - Robert Morris-Springfield, P, Jr., Decatur, IL- Neff led the Lady Eagles to two wins this week. The RMU-Springfield ace notched two shutout victories, as she struck out 17 batters, allowed no walks and six hits total.
