UC Clermont uses second half rally to eliminate Rhema 57-51
BROKEN ARROW, OKLA. -- Katie Ely scored 15 points and hauled in 10 rebounds to help lead UC Clermont to a second half rally and eliminate Rhema Bible College 57-51 in the 2008 USCAA National Championships late Thursday night.
The first half saw the host Eagles frustrate the Lady Cougars into an 8-for-31 shooting from the floor (25.8%) and take a 26-21 lead into the locker room. In the second half, the Lady Cougars improved their stroke from the floor hitting 11-of-29 from the field (37.9%) but they also hit 5-of-10 from behind the 3-point line which propelled them to a 36-25 second half scoring advantage.
Keshia Woods added 10 points for UC Clermont, while Nancy Gonzales scored 17 points and hauled in 13 rebounds to lead Rhema Bible. UC Clermont now faces Lyndon State College in a 10 pm matchup on Friday night.
