2006 USCAA National Soccer Championships Southern Virginia Women Take Title

5th Place: Warren Wilson College (NC) 3, Robert Morris-Lake County (IL) 1
Sarah Gaskin scored two goals and Amy Witt added 1 goal to lead the Warren Wilson Owls to the win in the 5th place contest. The Lake County Eagles got their lone goal from Gema Mariscal on an assist from Samantha Reed.

3rd Place: Robert Morris-Springfield (IL), New Hampshire Tech. 0 [OT]

Rochester College 4, New Hampshire Technical Institute 2

The Southern Virginia Knights advance to face Rochester College in the championship. The Robert Morris-Springfield Eagles will play the NHTI Capitals for third place.

Rochester College's Krystn Freeman scored 1:41 into the game on a pass from Shantelle Jones-Williams to give the Lady Warriors the early lead. The Southern Virginia Knights answered later when Leslie Clarke fed Susie Jex for a goal at 14:32. Five minutes later at 19:36, Leslie Clarke scored on a pass from Andrea Manwill. Rochester had a chance to tie late in the game, but their goal was waved off due to an offside player. Tournament MVP Mary Ertel had 6 saves for Southern Virginia in goal as the Knights won the 2006 National Championship.
