Newport News, VA – The field for the 2012 USCAA Baseball National Championship has been finalized. Gaining bids to the Small College World Series are Spalding University, Apprentice School, Rochester College, Clark State Community College, Southern Virginia University, Selma University, and Robert Morris University-Springfield. Also joining the field are three teams from the Penn State University Athletic Conference; Penn College, Penn State-Beaver, and conference winner Penn State-Mont Alto.
The teams in the field will be looking up at Spalding University. The Golden Eagles finished third in the 2011 USCAA Small College World Series, but have been the leader in the USCAA baseball coaches poll most of the season and enter this year’s championship as the number one overall seed. Returning for the second consecutive year are last year’s runner-up Southern Virginia University, Rochester College, Apprentice School, Selma University, and host institution Robert Morris University-Springfield.
