USCAA Players of the Week

Men’s Soccer 

Phathizwe Sacolo, a freshman Forward at University of Maine—Fort Kent, has won the Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the second time this year. Sacolo led the Fort Kent Men’s Soccer team to an undefeated week with wins over University of Maine-Machias, SUNY Canton, and the University of Moncton. Phathizwe scored a resounding seven goals on the week including a hat trick in a 5-0 win against SUNY Canton. 

Goalkeeper of the Week

David Girouard, a junior from University of Maine-Fort Kent is the Goalkeeper of the Week. Erik had a combined two saves and three shutouts to help his team go undefeated on the week. 

 Player of the Week

Whitney Sinclair a senior forward from University of Maine-Machias is the Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. Whitney had nine goals, including two hat tricks and four assists in the final three home games of her career as a Bengal. She helped the Bengals to a 3-0 week and will go down as the school’s all-time leading scorer. 

Volleyball

Player of the Week

Jessica Reynolds, a freshman middle hitter at SUNY-Canton is the Volleyball Player of the Week. Valerie helped SUNY-Canton go 2-2 on the week, and was named to the all-tournament team at the Oswego State tournament. For the week Valerie had 44 kills, 11 aces, 8 blocks, and 36 digs. 

Meghan Murtagh, a sophomore setter at PSU– Wilkes-Barre is the Volleyball Setter of the Week. Meghan led her team to a 3-1 record for the week and a 12-2 record on the year. Meghan finished the week with a remarkable 137 assists, 9 service aces and 15 digs. Murtagh has 339 assists on the season.

Men’s Cross Country

Runner of the Week

Brian Busby a freshman at SUNY-ESF is the Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Brian finished first overall with a time of 28:04 in the 8k Cazenovia College Invitational X-C meet. Brian was able to secure his victory during the last 100 meters of the race against a formidable opponent.

Women’s Cross Country

 Runner of the Week

Tori Faulkner, a freshman at Southern Virginia University, is the Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Alex finished in second place at the Virginia State Invitational 5k run with a time of 19:48.
