After a vote by the executive board last
week, the USCAA has accepted two new members for the 2006-2007
season. Penn State-New Kensington and Lyndon State College
will be the USCAAs newest competition next year.
Lyndon
State College is a four- year institution located in
Lyndonville, Vermont. Previously, they have been strong
competitors in the NAIA. They will end NAIA membership in June
and as of September, will become provisional members of the
NCAA D3.
The current enrollment at Lyndon State is
1140 and they will participate intercollegiately in mens
and womens Soccer, mens and womens cross
country, volleyball, mens and womens basketball,
softball, and baseball.
Lyndon States athletic department is
headed by Christopher Ummer.
Penn
State-New Kensington currently competes in the Penn
State University Athletic Conference, comprised of 14 campuses
of Penn State across the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Previously a member of the NJCAA in the early 90s, New
Kensington is the first of the Penn State colleges to join the
USCAA.
Penn State-New Kensington is a four-year
institution located in Upper Burrell, Pennsylvania. They have
approximately 824 students and will compete intercollegiately
in mens and womens basketball, volleyball, and
golf.
Their athletic director, Ron Nichols, is
the current President of the Penn State Athletic conference
and has aspirations of the entire conference becoming a part
of our organization down the road.
