The following are capsule summaries of the
third day of play in the 2007 USCAA National Baseball
Championship Tournament.
GAME 5: Presentation 16, Penn
State-Beaver 3 Box
Score
Jarred Koopman was 4-for-5 with three runs scored and drove in
a pair, while Logan Huber was 3-for-3 with four RBIs as the
Saints scored in all but one inning in the victory. Ryan
Ellingson earned the win throwing five innings allowing seven
hits and one run. Mike Yost was 3-for-4 for Penn State-Beaver.
GAME 6: Briarcliffe 11, Columbia Union

Score
Scott Rader’s two-run double highlighted a nine-run third
inning for the defending champion Briarcliffe College who
eliminated Columbia Union College. Dan O’Brien was
3-for-4 with two runs scored while Rader was 2-for-4 with
three driven in. Jonathan Kim pitched 4.1 innings of relief
for Briarcliffe to earn the win while Victor Mederos earned
the save with a scoreless seventh. Five different Pioneers had
two hits each as Columbia Union finished its season 24-21.
GAME 7: Apprentice 15, Florida College

Cato Dixon was 4-for-4 driving in three runs while James
Denny, Bryce Beale and Ryan Scott were all 3-for-5 as the
Apprentice School advanced to the championship game of with a
victory over Florida College. Mike Nelson earned the win
pitching five innings of relief for Apprentice School. Mike
Stinson, Ryan Barry and Michael Malone all had two hits for
the Falcons.
GAME 8: Presentation 14, Briarcliffe 7

Score
David Hermida was 3-for-4 and drove in five runs, while Ryan
Ellingson and Logan Huber also had three hits apiece as
Presentation eliminated the defending champions Briarcliffe
College. The Saints put the game away with a 10-run fifth
inning to take a 14-5 advantage. Ryan Ellingson took the win
throwing a complete game allowing nine hits. Dan Rodriguez and
John Rivera had two hits each for Briarcliffe.
