Men's Division II Semi-Finals
Johnson & Wales Charlotte 81 Penn State York 69
#7 Johnson & Wales Charlotte entered today’s semi-finals after defeating Berkeley College and Penn State Wilkes-Barre in the first and second rounds. The Wildcats upset #3 Penn State York by a score of 81-69. The Wildcats were led by sophomore, Anthoney Ray, who scored 35 points and led both teams. Johnson & Wales Charlotte will face Southern Maine Community College in the Men’s Division II National Championship on Thursday, March 10th at 6pm.
Southern Maine CC 61 Penn State Mont Alto 44
The #5 seed Southern Maine Community College entered Wednesday’s semi-final contest on a 5-game win streak, dating back to the regular season. The Seawolves came up big in an upset victory against #1 seed Penn State Mont Alto by a score of 61-44. SMCC was led by their leading scorer Zachary Mickle, who had 27 points and shot 6 for 11 on three pointers. The Seawolves will face the Johnson & Wales Charlotte Wildcats in the Men’s Division II National Championship Thursday, March 10th at 6pm at the VSU Multi-Purpose Center.
Women's Division I Semi-Finals
Saint Mary of the Woods College 77 Clinton College 67
#5 Saint Mary of the Woods College entered today’s semi-final matchup against #1 Clinton College after defeating Bryant & Stratton Syracuse in the first round of the tournament. SMWC defeated the top seeded Golden Bears 77-67. SMWC had 4 players in double digit points in the contest, led by Abby Worley with 15. Saint Mary of the Woods College will play in the Women's Division I National Championship game against D’Youville College at VSU Multi-Purpose Center on Thursday, March 10th at 12:30pm.
D’Youville College 86 Bryant & Stratton - Buffalo 54
The #3 seed D’Youville College entered the semifinals game after defeating BSC Albany in the first round of the USCAA National Tournament after beating Bryant and Stratton - Albany. The Saints defeated the Bryant & Stratton - Buffalo Bobcats in a dominant 86–54 win. D’Youville had 3 scorers over 20 points (Haley Kirisits, Anna Jankovic, and Sara Pfeiffer). D'Youville will play for the Women's Division I National Championship against Saint Mary of the Woods College on the at VSU Multi-Purpose Center on Thursday, March 10th at 12:30pm.
Women's Division II Semi-Finals
Central Maine CC 70 University of Cincinnati Clermont 56
#2 Central Maine Community College played their first game at the VSU venue in a semi-final game vs #3 UC Clermont. The Mustangs punched their ticket to the National Championship game by defeating the Cougars 70-56. The Mustangs were led with 3 players in double digits. Eliza Brault had 15 ponts, Luna Love scored 12 points, and Safena Te Nana-Williams scored 12 in the semi-final game. They will face Penn State Schuylkill in the Women's Division II National Championship at VSU Multi-Purpose Center on Thursday at 8:45pm.
Johnson & Wales Charlotte vs. Penn State Schuylkill
#4 Penn State Schuylkill entered the semi-final round after defeating Villa Maria in their first matchup. The Lions faced off against the Johnson & Wales Charlotte Wildcats, who were the top seed coming into the USCAA National Tournament. Penn State Schuylkill pulled off an OT-thriller, winning by a score 69-67. The team was led by Tajae Stevenson, who recorded a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds. They will play Central Maine CC in the Women's Division II National Championship on Thursday at 8:45pm at the VSU Multi-Purpose Center.
