    Takoma Park, MD- The Washington Adventist University Acro-Airs is set to perform at the 129th 4th of July Takoma Park Independence Day Parade & Fireworks celebration. The team will headline the evening program that will start at 7 pm at the Takoma Park Middle School (7611 Piney Branch Road, Takoma Park, MD).

    Takoma Park, MD- The Washington Adventist University women's basketball team has announced the hiring of assistant coach Janelle Silver. Silver comes to WAU, from St. Thomas University (FL) where she completed her masters in Sports Administration this past may. She also served as the captain of the women's basketball program and helped lead STU to the 2018 NAIA DII Women's Basketball National Tournament.

    Takoma Park, MD- Head Men's Basketball Coach Patrick E. Crarey, II has announced the hiring of assistant coach Desmond Small. Small comes to Washington Adventist University as a former assistant coach at Bladensburg High School where he spent the last 8 years coaching. He has had over 10 years of high school and AAU coaching experience.

    Takoma Park, MD- The Washington Adventist University Athletic Department has announced that Alex J. Sandoval will take over the men's soccer program effective immediately. The takeover comes shortly after former head coach Carlington Harvey announced that he would be stepping down at his position.

    Takoma Park, MD- The Washington Adventist University basketball programs will be offering several basketball opportunities this June. The first camp offered will be the 8th Annual Patrick Crarey's Basketball Skills Clinic. The Skills Clinic has reached over 350 youth in the last eight years. The clinic dates are June 18-22 9am-3pm. Registration for the Skills Clinic is open to both boys & girls ages 6-16.

    Takoma Park, Md- The Washington Adventist University women's soccer head coach Alex J. Sandoval has announced the 2018-19 recruiting class. Sandoval signed six incoming freshmen and three transfer students. The new recruits will join a heavy senior-laden team in Laura Perez, Cristina Reyes, and Jhenifer Portillo at the helm.

    Takoma Park, MD- The Washington Adventist University Acro-Airs team has announced their summer camp dates. The first camp will be held July 23-27 & July 30-Aug 3, in the WAU Gymnasium. The camp will run from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday for ages 6-18, and on Friday there will be an exhibition of skills learned for friends and family.   • [Softball] SOFTBALL ENDS SEASON WITH SEVERAL PROGRAM RECORDS

    Takoma Park, Md- The Washington Adventist University Softball team season ended last week when the game against Bowie State University was canceled due to weather conditions. However, the cancelation did not hinder the progress that was made during the inaugural season back in competition. The Softball team at WAU was ended in 2012 and after a six-year hiatus, the Softball team sprung into action and broke several records this season.

    Takoma Park, Md- The Washington Adventist University Athletics Department has announced the Weight Room hours for the summer. The Weight Room will be open Monday-Thursday 5-8 pm.
